
David E. Casper III
Executive Director
David E. Casper III is a Union County native. He graduated from Sun Valley High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wingate University. Before joining Union Diversified Industries, Inc. in January of 2018 as the Chief Operational Officer, David worked in various capacities for Easter Seals UCP of North Carolina & Virginia, Inc. and Agape Youth and Family Services. David has been in non-profit management and executive leadership for over 17 years and was appointed as the Executive Director of Union Diversified Industries Inc. in summer of 2019.
Throughout his career, David has been very active in training staff to successfully work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. As a previously certified instructor of courses such as North Carolina Interventions, Preventing and Managing Aggressive Behaviors, and Lifting/Transferring and a current Red Cross Certified Instructor of First Aid/CPR/AED for adults, children, and infants, David has provided training to individuals who continue to make a daily impact in Union County and surrounding areas. David is also a master trainer and co-author of Minimal Intrusive Intervention Techniques, which is a North Carolina approved curriculum on prevention and alternatives to restrictive interventions, seclusion, restraint, and isolation/timeout.
Outside of his work in the IDD/MH/SU field, David is an internationally licensed and ordained minister through the National Freewill Baptist Association and has held numerous roles within the local Beaver Creek Association (chapter) of the South Carolina FWB Association. David has worked as a church planter and continues his pastoral work at a church in Monroe.
David, his wife, and their son reside in Union County. He enjoys hunting, boating, woodworking, and spending time with his family. David is a member of the Monroe Rotary Club, Union County Chamber of Commerce, and the UCOC Young Professionals of Union County. David serves on the Board of Directors for the Monroe Rotary Club, the Union County Transportation Advisory Board, and the Advisory Committee for the Union County Boys and Girls Club. David was awarded the 2020 Trail Blazer Award by Business North Carolina.

Leonard Politowicz
Controller
Leonard is a Union County transplant from Maryland. Leonard holds a B.S. in Finance from Oral Roberts University. As Controller, he is fiscally responsible for the financial well-being of the company. He is also responsible for facility management where he draws from his experience in manufacturing and education to gain knowledge in continuous improvement, organization and lean processes. While not at work, he enjoys getting outside and getting his hands dirty in the yard gardening. Camille Shoemaker
Program Manager
Camille is a Charlotte native that began serving the I/DD population of Union County in 2013. Camille holds a Bachelor’s in Human Services from Queens University of Charlotte. After arriving at UDI for the first time, she quickly found herself falling in love with the clients and recognizing the uniqueness of the program. She is a passionate believer in UDI’s mission of enhancing the daily lives of our clients on all levels. In her spare time, Camille enjoys cheering on the Carolina Panthers and spending quality time with her husband and two beautiful children, Peyton and Elliott.

Connor Secrest
Production Manager
Connor arrived at UDI in 2018 already boasting a wide range of experience. After attending technical school for auto mechanics, Connor held jobs as a stone mason, a steel fabricator and even as the operator of a small landscaping company. Yet despite Connor’s many achievements professionally, he felt restless and unsatisfied. Upon interviewing for a position at UDI, he knew immediately that it was where he was meant to be. His favorite part about working at UDI is leaving everyday knowing that he has made a difference. When he is not working, Connor enjoys spending time with his wife, relaxing in the great outdoors, and being involved at his church.

Kenneth Melton

Kenneth is a native of Washington D.C. and is a proud six-year veteran of the United States Army. Since his youth, Kenneth has always enjoyed helping people become successful. It was this disposition that led him to pursue a career in the human services field. Before coming to UDI, Kenneth held positions at Easter Seals UCP and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. He became the Innovations Qualified Professional in early 2019, and his favorite part about working at UDI is laboring diligently to impact the lives of those he compassionately serves. Kenneth holds a Bachelor's in Human Services from Gardner-Webb University. He resides in Charlotte with his wife and three children.

Levi grew up in Tullahoma, a city located in Middle Tennessee. He found his way to North Carolina in 2018 after marrying his wife, who is a native of Union County. He holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Trevecca Nazarene University and is working to complete a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. His favorite part about working at UDI is seeing the smiling faces of clients and collaborating with others who have a passion for serving. When he is not working, Levi enjoys watching sports, relaxing on his family farm and spending time with his wife and newborn baby.

His first job out of college allowed him to travel writing and shooting video on the nation’s top high school basketball stars. Yet despite landing what seemed like his dream job, Michael felt unfulfilled and sensed a different calling on his life. He interviewed for a position at UDI in March 2020 and knew immediately that it was where he was meant to be. Michael’s favorite part about working at UDI is the many laughs and smiles he gains every day by working with his favorite people in the world.
